Today is Friday, I should be participating in Overwhelmed with Joys Favorite Ingredient Friday, but today is a themed edition….Weight Watchers, something I know nothing about but I look forward to snagging a few delicious recipes.  Make sure you stop by over there and participate if you have any recipes or check it out if you are hoping to snag a few!

Mother Hen tagged me yesterday for a being quirky meme, something I have NO shame in admitting I am ;) !  If you haven’t checked out her new digs, go see them they will knock your socks off.  Kim’s daughter, Kittykat designed the header….she did a great job didn’t she?

I have to tell you she tagged me, choose only six things that make me quirky, and then I have to tag six other quirky people and make them follow the rules (okay I wont make you but hey it’s worth a shot)

1-I can not stand to have an out of order grocery or store list (my husband does this as well if by some odd reason he has to make a list).  I write my lists in accordance to the lay out of the store. I find that if I don’t do this things get left and then I have to spend more gas, time and energy going back for the jar of pickles.
2-I have a strict cleaning schedule that I adhere too, but I find it makes my life MUCH easier, at least for me.
3-I don’t care who you are, you will take your shoes off before you get past my entry way.  One time I met my match in the Maytag man who refused to wear the booties his company supplies him with in his truck.  He eventually gave in.  I am mean.
4-I too (Mother Hen had this as one of hers) had NO IDEA how to cook when I got married.  He knew how to cook Ramon noodles, and I knew how to make a sandwich not a good one but a sandwich.  We ate out far too much and after finding out after 2 1/2 months of marriage that we were expecting I figured out how to cook quickly.  He has a stomach of steel which is obvious since he survived my few months of burning nearly every meal.  I am determined to teach my children to cook at a young age, no need in them having to worry about killing their own husbands!
5-I was raised by a femininist….considering I am and always have gone against the grain and been against feminism, this probably qualifies as the most quirky thing about me.
6-I love playing My Little Ponies with my daughter….I feel like a kid again!
****The people who know me in real-life and on a day to day basis know these things already but will enjoy seeing that I can talk about them, in case you couldn’t tell I am OCD.  I used to think it was about control I really don’t anymore the more I learn about OCD the more I realize I have other issues ;) *****

Those I know don’t do memes or they wont participate  (no fun right?) so I am breaking the rules and telling you that if you want to play along please leave me a comment and let me know that you are doing this.

My friend OWJ has decided that she didn’t have enough to do between working full time, having a 3-year old as well as two foster daughters that she decided to open up her own business!  I am so excited for her.  She is launching Sparkle and Charmthis week and you just have to go check out her hairbows, bookmarks and jewlery that she makes!  I make bows for my girls but they aren’t fancy and cute like these so I just had to order the butterfly ones (HA0015) for my doodlebug.

Just a reminder that Golden Goodness has recently launched her own Blog Makeover business with all kinds of cutesy designs to choose from.  She is HIGHLY affordable at $25.00 for the whole thing.  Go quick before she gets so many orders that she becomes famous and raises her prices! ;)

This is Food Allergy Awareness Week.  Though your child may not have any food allergies, chances are one of his friends do.  Sue and Janeen both have children with Food Allergies and this is a daily struggle for both of their families.  Get informed and make sure if a new “friend” is coming to visit that you talk with the parents about any allergies he/she may have.

  3. i quite enjoy the randomness! i’d love to hear more about your strict cleaning schedule…i need some discipline in that area. i’m also encouraged about your cooking history because i’m still learning and the hubby gets to suffer through some pretty bland cuisine. :)
