First off thank you so much for all of the encouragment it was nice to hear I am not the only one who has failed one of these tests before, especially after a few pregnancies!
I must say I had a great time at the doctors office today.
I will admit I was really nervous this morning, I had a good friend who informed me that she threw up 2/3 of the time with the fantastic drink you are provided and then the nurse even told me that they see that more often than not. The germaphobe in me kept saying “oh my goodness not only will I puke but I will puke in a doctors office potty!” Praise the Lord I did not have this reaction or I am not sure if I would have lived to type about it!
Let me tell you something else I can not stand the one hour drink that they give you. It is all I can do to keep drinking it. The one you get for the three hour test is twice the concentrate and is DELICIOUS! I realized with the help of a friend, I like sweets a bit too much when I requested a second helping of it. It was some good stuff!
One would not normally classify fun and a doctors office in the same category but I had a good friend who needed a ear, and it was nice being able to do that for her without interruption. I then spent time re-reading Shepherding a Child’s Heart (which I highly recommend to anyone who hasn’t read this already).
Okay enough with the chit chat you want to know my results right?
I passed.
Apparently with flying colors too. If your first two test results show up “normal” you get to go home, otherwise you stay for another hour. I got to go home after the first two tests!
In true fashion to my personality I had gone prepared to the doctors office. With me I had taken a granola bar for doom and gloom results and a Nestle Crunch bar for good results. Hubs asked if I had eaten the NC bar in front of them, no, but I waited until I got to the elevator to enjoy myself.
HURRAY!
